The Exotic Lingerie History

Exotic lingerie is extremely popular everywhere in the world. Used for erotic display, exotic lingerie is an essential clothing item. Lingerie is a French word meaning womens undergarments and it comes in over 35 different categories each having many styles, shapes, fabrics, colors, and designs. Some examples of exotic lingerie are Baby doll, Bodystocking, Brassiere, Camisole, Corset, Garter, Knickers, Negligee, Panties, Stockings, and Garter belt among others.

Exotic lingerie can be traced back to the times of Romans and Greeks. Back then, corset was popular and used to push up the breasts by women in a way that the breasts could be easily seen teasing out of their outerwear. Soon after this, lingerie was no longer used for eroticism or as a fashion accessory, but more as a means of support.

Exotic lingerie began to be worn as a means for supporting the buttocks and the bust. The silhouette gained recognition and exotic lingerie began to be used to expose these two areas to the maximum by giving them support. Middle Ages witnessed women in corsets and bells as means of enhancing their figures and this evolution continued into the Renaissance period. With padded silhouettes for support, breasts began to be shaped with the help of cones. Corset began to be used to flatten the abdomen, make the waist appear smaller and push the busts to look bigger and appealing.

Towards the start of the 18th century, corset was used for breasts and exotic lingerie began to be used to make the wait appear smaller. The popular silhouette was the S type and the trend was to have large breasts, small waist, and exaggerated rear side. By the end of the 19th century, exotic lingerie was classified into two categories the corset to support the breasts and stockings held up by garter belts to make the buttocks look different.

At the start of the 20th century, corsets faded away and born was the first bra in 1913. More comfortable than the corset, women took to bra quickly. Now the look was flat bust and straight hips. So, exotic lingerie such as chemise and bloomers helped achieve this. 1930s were witness to exotic lingerie with elastic allowing more freedom. But by the 70s the trend was to wear less and show more and lead to exotic lingerie like G-string/ thongs.

Currently, the range of exotic lingerie is mesmerizing and exciting and available in every conceivable design and fabric. Expose it or hide it from the prying eyes, exotic lingerie makes every woman and man feel loved, cherished, and pampered.
